NAWDIC-AR Recon Workshop, 20 June 2024

Overview

This one-day workshop is hosted by the teams of NAWDIC and Atmospheric River Reconnaissance (AR Recon). It will be held in person at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography in San Diego (with an option for remote participation) on 20 June 2024 from 8 am to 1 pm Pacific time (5 pm to 10 pm CEST). The workshop will focus on the following main topics and objectives:

  • Brief update from each international contributor (UK/GER/FR/US)
  • Planning for a NAWDIC dry run to be held over 2 weeks during January/February 2025
  • Targeting for additional observations - Drifters, Floats, Radiosondes, WindBorne, etc.
  • Data assimilation planning

Participants are encouraged to also attend the 5th International Atmospheric Rivers Conference the following week (24 to 27 June) at the same location.
